Learn why plastic clothes harms our oceans and how Teemill stores offer you something different.","content":"<h3>Washed to Death<\/h3><p><span style=\"font-family:'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif;\">Washing clothes releases 500,000 tons of microfibres into the ocean each year according to World Economic Forum statistics, that\u2019s the equivalent of 50 billion plastic bottles in weight but each tiny fibre is small enough to be absorbed by plankton and bioaccumulates up into our food chains.<\/span><\/p><p>Follow the food chain and what you\u2019ll find is what we wear is ending up on our plates in micro-form. Nothing delicious about that!<\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif;\">In fact, polyester does not break down in the ocean and this kind of plastic can never be removed or cleaned up from nature.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif;\">The only solution is to immediately redesign the way clothes are made.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif;\">For Teemill stores, like The Bridges Co-Lab, this means sourcing natural materials and sending them back to Teemill at the end of their use to be remade.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-family:'Source Sans Pro', sans-serif;\">That is what a circular fashion economy looks like.
